What can I say?

I have lost some of my knitting mojo. I am still knitting, and probably a lot compared to most, but instead of knitting 3-4 projects at one time, I am knitting 1 project. I would show a pic of the one and only project, but it has been raining sooo much here. I also have a couple pics of finished projects to post, but haven't taken the pics yet. I one project I am knitting, the Montego bay scarf out of some of the silk yarn I died. If you would like some of this yummy soft silk yarn you can find it on my Etsy site: 1,000 Petals. PIMP PIMP! Anyway back to the knitting. I just can't seem to find a pattern I want to knit. I started some socks - they are pretty - but can't seem to find the motivation or willingness to work on them. I do have to say I have been extremely busy! Not only did we get a new laptop, but last night I drove off the car lot with a new car...and it is soooo purdy! We got a Mercury Milan in Satellite silver. The interior is black...all back leather with insets that are a blue/silver suede. This is the first care I have ever had that was Brand new...only 4.8 miles when I drove it off the lot. I love it lots!

I'm Back

Well, some of you may know that last week my computer crashed. After numerous attempts to fix we had to buy a new computer. 'course as soon as we did, DH tried a 13th time to fix computer and of course it is so far working. But, there is no telling how long the old computer would last until crashing again.

So, What am I doing? Trying to remember all my old favs on teh Internet. And, I am trying to get used to Vista.

We had to buy a new photo program, office program, and security program, 'cause the ones we had don't work on Vista.

I am liking this little baby. It is so much faster.

Etsy

I am trying to put together an etsy store.
Little confused at this point. I didn't register my username at the name I wanted for the store. Bummer! I am concerned about getting orders and making sure they go out on time...One of my biggest concerned. I want people to be happy with my service and I want orders to go out ASAP! Concerned about how payments will work. Wondering how paypal with work with etsy. I am concerned if the yarn I have created will even sell. Lots of questions on how, what, when, where. I will figure things out...but I hate not knowing.

He's a keeper!

A few night ago I finished my Clapotis. I flung the yarn and needles into Paul's lap, just playing with him. He picked up the needles and wanted me to show him how to knit. Thinking he was kidding I continued sewing in ends of yarn. He meant it. I started to show him an easy cast-on...which was not good enough...he wanted to know how to do a Long Tail cast-on. Okay?!? I showed him...and he did a damn good job for the first time. He then needed to know how to do a Knit stitch. Again a few minutes demonstrating and he picked it right up. After the cast-on row and one knit row though...It is not for him. It hurt his wrist...I explained that was because he was very tense, but that would go away in time. He gave the two rows back to me and said knitting probably isn't for him, but he could see how it is very relaxing and meditative. I don't mind that he doesn't want to knit. But, the fact that he was interested enough in what I was doing that he would take time to learn...that means so much!
Today I got home from work and look what DH had made for me. He made it...for me! So wonderful! It works perfectly!

You Are 35% Left Brained, 65% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.

Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.

If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.

Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.

Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.

If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.

Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

What is it about knitting socks?

I finished my Pomatomus socks. I will have to post a FO pic tomorrow 'cause it is midnight and too dark to take a pic tonight. Well, I got those socks off the needles and what am I doing...cruising the net for another sock to knit. I have 3 projects on the needles and one on the hook...WHAT THE HELL! Why do I feel the need to knit another sock?

Okay, maybe I should just admit I'm an addict. There I said it. Are you happy now?

Waiting...

So here's the thing...I have discovered the joy of keeping some form of knitting or crochet with me at all times. Last night after a ho-hum fireworks show I was waiting in the long line of cars. In these cars were frustrated and tired people just wanting to get home. Me...I had my crochet with me...put the car in park and got 1/2 a row of my gynormous-king size ripple bed cover done. Today on my way home from work (with a brief stop at Kona Coffee) I was again in a line with...yes...you guessed it...tired and frustrated people in cars, this time waiting on a train. I sat quietly in my car with the beginning of another piece of my secret afghan project. I got like 3-4 rows done. It is kinda like a driving bonus. No arm flailing or horn honking for me, thank you!

1lb

So...this is a pound of sock weight yarn. It is very daunting considering that I don't have a skein winder or swift or yardage counter. So...this is being done very slowly. I have a knibby nobby (whatever they are called) that I had Paul make for me that measured 1 yard. So I wind this by hand and then count each strand keeping track on a row counter. Hope to get more efficient equipment soon.
